Using LRC & SRT in CapCut

Already exported your LRC or SRT files from QuickLRC's AI LRC Generator? This comprehensive guide shows you how to use them in CapCut to create stunning lyrics videos and engaging karaoke content.

Creating Lyrics Videos with LRC Files

LRC files are perfect for displaying lyrics line by line as the song plays. This creates a clean, readable experience that's ideal for lyric videos and sing-along content.

1

Open CapCut Desktop

2

Import Your Media Files

Drag both your audio file (MP3, WAV, M4A, or other supported formats) and the exported LRC file from QuickLRC directly into CapCut's media panel at the top of the interface.

LRC File Format Example:

[00:01.68]The gravel pops beneath my tires
[00:07.76]A dusty trail through old desires
[00:13.82]The fence lines twist, the barbed wire hums
[00:20.48]Each mile a song of where I'm from
[00:25.96]The sky so wide it swallows the sun
[00:31.90]And the day fades slow but I ain't done
[00:39.56]On backroads and barbed wire, where the wind carries dreams
[00:47.04]Through the fields of my youth, where the river still gleams

Add LRC Captions to Timeline

Now for the magic part! Switch to the Text panel in CapCut's left sidebar, then select "Local Captions" from the text options. You'll see your LRC file listed there.

Drag the LRC file from Local Captions to the timeline, placing it on a text track above your audio. Here's the crucial part: make sure you position the start of the LRC track at exactly 0:00 on the timeline.

Once added, you can customize the text appearance using CapCut's text styling tools: change fonts, colors, add animations, backgrounds, and effects to match your creative vision.

Pro Tip

Align the LRC track start with your song's start time. If the song starts at 0:00, place the LRC at 0:00. If it starts at 10 seconds, place the LRC at 10 seconds. Matching start times ensures perfect sync.

Creating Karaoke Videos with SRT Files

SRT (SubRip Subtitle) files are ideal for karaoke-style videos where words or short phrases appear one at a time, creating a dynamic sing-along experience. To create karaoke style subtitle files with word-level timing, use our Enhanced LRC Generator which supports LRC, SRT, ASS, WebVTT, and TTML formats.
1

Export to SRT Format

CapCut doesn't fully support enhanced LRC with word-level timing. For karaoke-style word-by-word display, export your lyrics to SRT format instead. SRT files include start and end timestamps for each caption, which CapCut can use to display text word by word. If you want true karaoke-style word highlighting, check out our Karadeo integration.

Important Note
CapCut currently doesn't support traditional karaoke-style word highlighting (where each word is highlighted as it's sung within a line). The SRT format will display words or phrases sequentially, but you cannot highlight individual words within a line in real-time like traditional karaoke machines.

Import and Use SRT in CapCut

Follow the same import process as with LRC files: drag your audio file and SRT file into CapCut's media panel, add the audio to the timeline, then go to Text → Local Captions to find your SRT file.

Drag the SRT file to the timeline above your audio track, again starting at 0:00 for perfect synchronization. The difference you'll notice is that the text will appear in shorter segments, creating that karaoke effect.

Customize the text with bold fonts, bright colors, and animations like "bounce" or "typewriter" effects to enhance the karaoke experience. Consider adding a semi-transparent background behind the text for better readability.
